♦ Day 2 – Developing Story

It has now been 48 hours. The family compound in Ibadan is quiet. Too quiet, some would say.

Sources close to the household have confirmed that Baba Segi, husband, father of seven, and a man described by neighbours as “a presence you do not easily miss”,  has not been seen at the family compound since early this week.

No explanation has been offered. No statement has been released. His four wives remain at the compound. It is understood that they are aware of the situation. What is less clear is whether any of them are concerned.

Neighbours on the street report that the compound has been unusually subdued. One source, who asked not to be named, told this reporter: “The noise is gone. That house was never this quiet.” It is worth noting that a household of four wives and seven children is rarely, if ever, silent by accident.

At this stage, the circumstances surrounding Baba Segi’s absence remain unknown. What is known is this: he was here. And now he is not.

This publication will continue to report as the story develops.

If you have information regarding Baba Segi’s whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact us.
