I’ve always been fascinated by Japanese culture, and the Taiko drum was something I needed to understand.  I did a lot of research before making this painting and found some truly amazing facts about this drum. My focus here is not just the drum but the drummer also.

Taiko has been used in Japan for centuries, first in warfare and sacred festivals. Over time, the drum evolved into a profound art form, blending rhythm, movement, and discipline.
